The Power of Social Media Content: A Blueprint for Inbound Lead Generation

In the world of social media, standing out can be a daunting challenge. I often encounter the question: Is too much content, too much content?

Today, I’m excited to share our journey at Complete Game Consulting, where we doubled our weekly social media content recently and witnessed a remarkable surge in inbound leads, particularly on LinkedIn.

Let’s face it; the social media landscape is noisy, and creating more content might seem counterintuitive to some. However, the truth is, if you’re not generating enough content, you’re likely missing out on valuable opportunities. The turning point for us came when I learned from a mentor, Alex Hormozi, about how his company achieved unprecedented results by increasing their social media content tenfold. Inspired by their success, we took on the challenge to double our output.

We decided to go all-in. We doubled our social media content across Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, from 20-25 pieces to an ambitious 45-50 pieces every week. The results were nothing short of extraordinary, with a significant increase in inbound leads, especially on LinkedIn, where we’re now generating nearly one lead per day.

In this process, I stumbled upon a sales formula:

Value x Volume = Sales Velocity

Let me break it down. If you deliver valuable content consistently and at a high volume, you’ll witness a surge in leads. It’s a simple yet effective equation that has transformed our approach to social media content creation.

Now, let’s talk about value. In the realm of social media, providing substantial value is non-negotiable. As Rory Vaden wisely taught me, lead with your best content. At Complete Game Consulting, our content strategy revolves around teaching our audience valuable skills to the point where they can implement them independently. This is the essence of value, and it’s the first step in the formula.

The second part of the equation is volume. The more value you bring, the more frequently you need to bring it. We’ve experienced this firsthand — doubling our content output over the last two months has directly correlated with an increase in inbound leads. The lesson here is clear: if you’re only putting out one or two pieces of content a week, it’s simply not enough.

As we head into the upcoming year, it’s essential to view social media content creation with the same significance as traditional prospecting activities like cold calling, emails, and networking. In fact, it’s become just as crucial, if not more so.

So, here’s my challenge to you: How can you create content next year that brings immense value to your ideal prospect? Moreover, how can you amplify the volume of content you’re putting out across platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok?

While we primarily focus on YouTube and LinkedIn at Complete Game Consulting, choose the platforms that align with your business goals. If you’re in the business-to-business space, LinkedIn and YouTube should be your primary focus. If you’re in the business-to-consumer space, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok can be equally effective.

In conclusion, the math is clear. More value, more frequently, across more platforms equals more prospects raising their hand, more inbound leads, and ultimately, surpassing your sales goals. So, gear up for an exciting journey of content creation in the coming year, and watch your business thrive.
