You Don’t Need Permission to Think Bigger

Five years ago, I was standing at a dinner in Santa Monica when Chris Harder looked at me and said something that changed everything. “If you’re going to do this, you need to quit being a f***ing pu$$y and think bigger.”

It was brutal, but I needed to hear it.

I had the idea to coach insurance professionals, but I didn’t know if I could actually do it. I grew up in a family I love to death, but “dream big” wasn’t exactly the motto on our wall. So I waited. I questioned. I played small.

That’s the thing about self-worth. When you spend years in a performance-driven career, you start tying your value to results. And when the results aren’t there yet, you convince yourself you’re not ready.

But I needed people in my life who would challenge me to think bigger and hold my ass accountable. That’s why I started working with my coach Christina back in 2020. She’s been there through every high and low as I built Complete Game Consulting from a side hustle into what it is today.

When we started, I was sick of the BS in the insurance industry. I’d see people talking a big game but not living it. Programs that didn’t actually move the needle. I knew there was a better way, but first I had to get my own head right.

That’s the gap most of us are sitting in right now. You know you’re capable of more. You can see the vision. But something’s holding you back from going all in.

You don’t need anyone’s permission. You need accountability. You need someone in your corner who will call you out when you’re playing small.

What you can do right now

Get honest with yourself. What would your business look like if you stopped playing it safe?

Find your accountability. Who in your life is going to challenge you to think bigger? If you don’t have someone, go find them.

Pick one thing and go all in this week. Not next month. This week.

You’re capable of more than you know, but you have to decide you’re worth betting on.
