How to Plan Your Most Productive Quarter Ever

Are you ready to make Q2 of 2024 your best quarter yet? As CEO and founder of Complete Game Consulting, I’ve helped countless insurance producers sell their first $250,000 in business. In this article, I’ll share with you the strategies I use to plan highly productive quarters, both for myself and for my clients.

The Importance of Quarterly Planning

Many sales directors and agency principals struggle with helping their producers manage their time effectively. Producers often set lofty sales goals at the beginning of the year but fail to create a plan to achieve those goals. By the time May or June rolls around, they find themselves nowhere close to their targets and start to feel stressed out.

The key to avoiding this scenario is to think about your year in quarters. Planning quarter by quarter allows you to stay focused and adjust your strategy as needed.

Step 1: Set Your Top 5 Goals

Before the start of each quarter, sit down and ask yourself: what are your top five goals for the next 90 days? These goals don’t all have to be business-related. Consider all aspects of your life, including health and fitness, relationships, personal development, and more.

As you write down your goals, ask yourself two questions:

  1. Why do I want to achieve this goal?

  2. What will be my reward when I achieve it?

Step 2: Break It Down Month by Month

Once you have your quarterly game plan, break it down month by month. Look at the first month of the quarter and determine what you need to focus on to stay on track with your quarterly goals.

Step 3: Plan Your Weeks

To execute your game plan effectively, you must plan your weeks. Block out an hour each week (I do this on Sunday mornings) to plan the upcoming week. During this planning session, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What were my biggest wins last week?

  2. What insights did I learn last week?

  3. How can I be better this coming week?

  4. What am I excited about this upcoming week?

  5. What are my top three priorities for the week?

  6. What’s the most important thing I need to get done this week?

By answering these questions, you’ll ensure that you’re always making progress toward your quarterly goals.

One of the best tools I’ve found for quarterly planning is the Clever Fox Weekly Planner Pro. I’ve been using this planner for over two years to plan my weeks, months, and quarters, and I highly recommend it.

Planning a productive quarter takes effort, but it’s well worth it. By setting clear goals, breaking them down month by month, and planning your weeks, you’ll stay focused and make consistent progress toward your targets.

Remember, when you’re clear on your goals, you become confident. When you’re confident, you become consistent. And when you’re consistent, you become unstoppable. So go out there and make it happen!
