If you want to speed up your path to success, well, then you’re going to have to slow down. In this video, I am going to teach you why simplifying your business model is going to speed up your path to success. Six months ago, Amy and I made a decision to move back from Colorado. Here to Wisconsin, our home state. And with it came simplification.

We slowed down. We don’t have any traffic. We cut out the noise here. You want to get somewhere? Takes 10 minutes no matter where you have to go. I want to go grab coffee with Mom and Dad. I can be there in five. Heck, a water tower just down the street has a tagline that says life happens naturally here.

You see, when you slow things down, when you simplify, you actually speed up your path to success. So what does that mean for your business? Well, right now, there’s a good chance you are overcomplicating your business. You’re trying to do too much or trying to please too many people. It looks like anything but simple. And the most important thing you can do right now is slow down and figure out how you can get rid of those things that are unnecessary so you can focus on what matters most.

You have to figure out how you’re going to cut yourself out of the noise so you can think, get rid of the distractions. There are three areas of your business you have to start simplifying to day. If you want to have more success, number one, you have to simplify how you operate in your business every single week. You see, when I look at how I operate here, it is a very simple process.

There is no magic. However, I have never felt healthier, happier and more productive. Why? Because I keep it simple. First and foremost, it starts with my wardrobe. I wear the same stuff every day, Monday through Friday. If I am in the office, you’re going to find me in a flannel and a pair of dress pants. Now it’ll look different when I’m traveling or speaking when I’m in the office.

It’s the same thing. Number two, I eat the same thing every breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. Why? I don’t have to think. It keeps it simple. And I operate in an office space that is about 50 square feet. I can be where I need to be quickly. Be at my desk, be in my back cave and get a lot of shit done every single day.

So the first thing you have to do is simplify how you operate. The second area of your business you have to simplify is what you offer. You’re offering too much shit right now. You’re chasing too many shiny metal objects. No, you don’t need 37 different revenue streams to grow. Right now what you need is one product that is damn good that people want to buy.

Quit chasing. Simplify. Focus on very few things. When Steve Jobs came back to Apple, Apple had over 300 products and he said, You know what? We’re eliminating 296 of them and we’re only going to offer four. And that is when Apple became the apple we all know today. Now, I hate to tell you, you are not Apple, but you need to simplify what you offer.

Offer one thing and make it as good as it can be. And then think about diversification. And the third area of your business you need to simplify is your marketing message. Yeah. Nobody knows what you’re talking about right now. Nobody wants to know how the watch is made. Believe it or not, your baby, your product isn’t as cute as you think it is.

You have to simplify your message and deliver a marketing message. People understand and people want to buy. So what you need to do today, if you want to create exponential growth in your business, is not expand it. It’s not offer new products. It’s actually doing the opposite. It’s simplifying. It’s slowing down and getting so damn good at what you do that people just want to know how they can do business with you.

Business is no longer about who you know. Business is about who knows you. In a noisy industry like we’re in gang, you got to get people to know who you are.

Time to take action.
